JUSTIN BIEBER - BELEIVE - DIGIPAK ANALYSIS.

FRONT.
There is a picture of Justin Bieber at the centre of the front cover of the digipak. We can see him looking away from the camera, which ultimately gets the audience thinking about what may be going on in his mind. The audience could question weather he is looking at something in regards to success, or perhaps an ambition or a goal that he would like to achieve, hence having the song name as "Believe".

The style of the font is a white cutout block, with the word "Believe" carved out of the block, with the letters being filled up by the background and not the white cutout. We can see that the title of the song is slanted at a 45degree angle facing right. The upwards incline of the text is towards where briber is looking. This connotes an image of him excelling in the music industry / in life in general. The spaced out typography of the text allows it to be seen from a long distance, essentially standing out for the audience to easily read.
Bieber's full name is written at the very top of the digipak in a small dust like gold style. The reason why his name may be at the top is because he is already a young, well recognised icon and poster around the world. He is so famous that wherever his face is shown, it is instantly identifiable for the audience to know who he is without having his name following him. He is known worldwide. The gold colour for his name could connote wealth and a happy lifestyle. Having previously listened to the song, the song is about him and a girl that he like. His aim is to get into a relationship with her and make something good out of it. The album focuses on Bieber, and the girl he is constantly talking about - as he may have feelings and a sweet spot towards and for her.

The sole purpose of placing the artists face at the centre of the digipak, is because it fills up the majority of the front cover, allowing it to look eye-catching for the audience and especially for the female audience that adore him the most, due to his "sexy look and features". Also the audience always look at the centre of the digipak automatically, so it is great that they instantly see Bieber's face there, as they become aware of his presence instantaneously.

In terms of the colours, we receive a warm welcome from the face of the digipak, as the colours, Yellow, Orange and a hint of red are shown on screen, for the background behind Bieber's face. All 3 of the colours are well blended together, creating a smoke effect, and ultimately lifting and highlighting Bieber's face off the front. Also, half of his face is dark and half is light. The dark side may represent his past, and the light may represent his future. We can see a bright yellow flash effect at the bottom right hand side of the digipak. This is in the same direction where Bieber is looking at, and in comparison to the opposite corner, the 3 colours are dull and dim which connotes the relationship between love and hate? past and present? or even Black-out and hope. However, when talking about Bieber and the girl he is talking about, the warm colours may be expressed as the love he has for her. The Red is for love, Yellow for "Believe", Orange for chemistry between them, which means all 3 of the colours together represent Bieber and his girl in a relationship together as one.
OVERALL, the front cover is absolutely stunning.

BACK.
The colour scheme is consistent throughout. However, the majority of the colour is Yellow, with hints of Orange and very low sign of Red. This may mean that his feelings have brightened up so much that he's is fully committed to "Believe" and physically make him and the girl he is after, end up in a relationship that would make both of them happy. We also see a dim green colour for the text of the songs from 1 to 16, + the rest of the writing below the list of songs are also a dim green colour. We also see the bright flashes of Yellow at the middle and bottom of the digipak. This could connote how their are sparks of love between him and his dream girl. The colours remain very warm, which is a positive sign for his life and motto to "Believe".

The back consists of the names of the 16 songs that are included in the album. This is done to tell the audience what is on the physical copy. (CD) This is also done to inform the audience that what they are paying for, is definitely worth the money, if they purchase the product. Also, the legal information is written at the back in small print, alongside with the management info, website info, and production info. Due to self promotion, there will be an increase in profit and revenue, which will help Bieber and his team excel further in the music industry. Also, the sets of information are all written in small print so that the attention is not drawn away from the main product itself.

Also, we can see the barcode at the bottom right hand side of the digipak (at an upwards angle). This is scanned for when every time a purchase of the product is made. Ultimately, stocks will be able to re-stock as more and more people invest into the product, as it becomes more popular. At the bottom left hand side of the digipak, we can see the record label company ("Def Jam") for Justin Bieber's album. This is quite small, as the attention must not be drawn away from the promotion of the main product. Also, in the same locality of the record company label, we can see a few digital platform companies which show the productions and companies they have worked with for the compatibility of the disc, as well as what media devices the disk can be and is supported to be played on.

The image at the back, is of a picture of the artist himself. We can see Bieber sitting on a stool, playing his guitar, and resting his left leg on the upper side of his hard shell guitar case. A point to highlight, would be that he does not look at the camera, and looks away from it. This shows and tells the audience that he is fully focused on his music which he is passionate about. Also, we can see a car number plate which is stuck to his guitar case. The number plate states "BELIEVE", and this could connote how he has a driving force of a supercar, and that no one can or ever will stop him to accomplish his dreams. There will be no one getting in the way of him, as he is very motivated.
Everything comes from his heart. The warm colours may represent sinlessness, love and protection. Bieber is completely indulged in his music and loves to sing about love. He is portrayed as a very sweet and genuine and caring individual.
OVERALL, the back is really good and full of extra and important meanings.

CD (INTERIOR)
First of all, Justin Bieber's name is at the top of the CD, in a bright yellow font. Again, he is already very well known around the whole wide world, hence his name does not need to appear very big on the CD. The name of the song is written in the same style as the front of the digipak, but this time, the cutout is black for the letters, and the remaining background is yellow instead of white (+ horizontal boarder for song name and not at an angle). This CD adopts a black and yellow colour inversion effect for the name of the artist and the title, as well as having all the producers name and legal information, logos, and companies in yellow as well on a black background. The yellow stands out really nicely on a black background and is extremely eye-catchy and easy to visualise for the audience. Also, there is a solid yellow ring around the entire CD which captivates and acts as a border for all the information on the CD. However, I see the yellow ring being a symbol of hope, protecting the word "BELIEVE", from anyone in danger of trying to breach his mission and life ambition with the girl that he likes, and also for him to have a good successful future. The websites for the album and the record company are shown, as well as the producers for the song. Justin Bieber remains very happy and positive in continuing to "BELIEVE", and never give up for what he believes is right.
OVERALL, the full digipak is really stunning, as it portrays a lot about the identity and type of person Justin Bieber is. The theme remains constant throughout, and ensures that every panel links to the same story to "BELIEVE".
