EVALUATION QUESTION 3.
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM YOUR AUDIENCE FEEDBACK?
First and foremost, our target audience ranges from 15 year old's to 25 year old's.
This is a representation of of the young teens and young adults from the male sex and the female sex.
We believe that our music video would target the males as the primary audience, and the females as the negative audience. This is simply because our music video is mainly coming from the male's perspective, as the main artist is telling a story. The females are not far off, but I believe that many men would find themselves in a situation where they may need to re-evaluate their relationship.
However, our audience is a mix of men and women, starting from a tender age of 15, all the way up to a more maturing stage of 25.
The POP & RAP genre incorporated into one music video is a clever idea, as the music nowadays are heavy on Pop and Rap, therefore attracting a larger audience to the table.
Our Questionnaire had included questions such as...
POSITIVE COMMENTS ABOUT OUR MUSIC VIDEO...
First and foremost, our target audience ranges from 15 year old's to 25 year old's.

The POP & RAP genre incorporated into one music video is a clever idea, as the music nowadays are heavy on Pop and Rap, therefore attracting a larger audience to the table.
Our Questionnaire had included questions such as...
- Male OR Female?
- Age?
- Type of music video they preferred?
- Favourite genre?
- Favourite music video? Why?
- How they consume music videos?
- Digital devices used to consume music videos?
- Music video expectations?
- Any improvements needed in our music video?
- Favourite part of our music video? Why?
- Least favourite part of our music video? Why?
- Does our music video attract our target audience?
- Rate our music video on a scale of 1(worst) to 10(best).
Our questionnaire allowed us to see the flaws in our production and music video.
This particular research enabled us to make changes to our plans, and also allowed us to think ahead, in terms of adding more shots of the main artist to make him the main attraction / star of the music video. Our aim is to sell the music video and the main artist.
For the main digital consumption of our music video, the main site which everyone uses the most was YouTube. This was really beneficial news for us, as we knew how our audience enjoy to access and find it easy to access content and our music video online via the internet.
When presenting our pitch to our media class and our 2 media teachers, we had explained thoroughly, our...
- Overall aim.
- Narrative.
- Locations we will be using.
- Performance footage.
- Mise-En-Scene.
- Costumes for main male artist and girl lip syncer.
- Use / Types of camera shots to be used throughout music video.
- Actors and Actress.
I have also included the points on how we had improved our music video, by understanding and using positive energy when reading the constructive criticism comments.
- Good use of pace.
- Good use of location.
- Good costume changes.
- Good camera work.
- Good lip syncing on slow parts of the song.
- Good performance.
- Good variation of shots.
- Good editing.
- Good transition effect.
- Good lighting suiting the mood of the song.
- Good use of colourisation.
- Good use of making the lyrics and visuals link.
- Good use of camera angles.
- Good editing whenever the beat drops in the music video.
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM COMMENTS ABOUT OUR MUSIC VIDEO...
- Inconsistent lip syncing for the main artist.
- Inconsistent lip syncing for the female backup artist.
- Some shots too long.
- Wrong dress code for female lip syncer / (Should not have been wearing bomber jacket near the middle of the MV).
- Clarity for some shots are questionable.
- More close ups of the main artist (KAM) were needed, in order to promote him.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE (IMPROVED) TO OUR MUSIC VIDEO IN ORDER TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR FINAL OUTCOME REACHES TO IT'S MAXIMUM POTENTIAL / BEST OUTCOME...
- Fixed the lip syncing for the main artist (making sure that it is in sync and in time)
- Fixed the lip syncing for the female lip syncer (making sure that it is in sync and in time)
- We have cut the long shots up by adding smaller shots in between (breaking the flow - adding more footage with less seconds) (good B-Roll footage)
- We have re-filmed the parts where some of the camera footage was not clear, blurry (out of focus) or too dark.
- We have added more shots of the graffiti location, so we are able to adhere by following and showing the pop aspect of our music video and also the rap aspect of our music video.
- We had also added more close ups of the main artist. (KAM)
I had also showed our complete music video to my friends outside of school, and they said they "Absolutely love it", and had also said "Wow, that is really good!".
They all said the loved the performance aspect of the music video, as well as the vague narrative from the main artist's perspective, as well as from the girl's perspective. They also loved the use of camera movement ad also the use of various locations, in particular, the Graffiti tunnel in Redbridge.
WE POSTED OUR COMPLETE MUSIC VIDEO ON YOUTUBE, AND... IT WENT REALLY WELL!

58 VIEWS, 3 LIKES AND 1 COMMENT SO FAR!

Out of all the comments I had received, I believe that when working in a group, it is essential to allocate jobs to every individual, therefore making the workload less for the individual, as well as less stress. The constructive criticism comments have taught me that when working in a group in the future, there should be a thorough evaluation of the work done, in order to highlight any flaws or drawbacks or areas to improve on. I have also learnt that as an individual in the future, I should always assess my work as I go along with it to complete it. I would be addressing the problems earlier, and essentially facing them earlier to a much higher standard.
In terms of the process of producing and editing a music video, the comments have taught me that I must take care and caution when working on the camera shots, ensuring that they are the right type of the shot for that specific part of the music video. I have also learnt that when producing a music video, I need a solid sense of my idea, and how I can portray that through filming the footage. The overall process of the production is very time consuming, and should definitely be planned beforehand to save / create time. When editing a music video, the comment shave taught me to pay attention to the brightness and darkness of my shots. The shots need to be adjusted in order to create at the correct atmosphere for the specific parts of the music video. Also, editing is very time consuming, and perhaps brainstorming the editing ideas could help start a debate about the suitable styles which flow with the music video. Also, when editing a music video, we have to take into consideration where certain effects are suitable, and mainly also look at the colour of the shot, alongside the saturation levels.
OVERALL, I felt that our music video was good and constructed in a very well and positive manner.
I believe that communication, time management and also the choice of costume (to an extent for the female lip syncer) should all be areas where improvement is vastly needed. Better communication would lead to a better understanding of what works need to be done, also better time management would allow us to understand by when exactly we need to get a certain job done, and how vital and important it is to do this. The costume change is a minor issue where we may need to choose appropriately for the situation.
To conclude, I really loved our music video, and felt that the comments really played a helping hand in us completing the music video to a good standard.
Our full and completed music video was very eye-catching and amazing to watch for me.
EVALUATION QUESTION 2.
HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE COMBINATION OF YOUR MAIN PRODUCT AND ANCILLARY TEXTS?
Above, is my final A2 level music video. The music video was the first product we had to produce. We had tried several times, and had taken many cuts of the music video, but then also getting feedback, in order to continue to show constant improvement in our work. The ancillary products were the digipak and the website. Our digipak could be either 4 or 6 panels, and also had to be completed by using Adobe Photoshop CC. Our website had to be made on WIX.com, as they have many templates to choose from, or, you also have the option to create your own website from scratch with no help from the site. The main idea of the ancillary products is to have a strong link / connection between them, which shows a consistent theme going along for the entire digipak and website. The target audience should be able to easily recognise the set theme and also the type of genre the music originates from. (POP & RAP)
In our music video, one of our main locations was the Graffiti tunnel in RedBridge. I had specifically used this location to base my Digipak upon it. Also, I had taken many pictures at the Graffiti tunnel in different lighting, in order to choose the best outcome for my different panels. The graffiti area is a great representation of the POP & RAP genre together into 1.
DIGIPAK.
This is my final front cover for my digipak. I had used Adobe Photoshop CC to use the colourisation tool effect to enhance the brightness levels of all the colours, as well as the saturation levels and the adjustment levels for the cool and warm colours. I have made the background colours really bright and saturated, as well as the main artist's face and clothes that he is wearing. Having made KAMZ face slightly darker, this has allowed me to make him
stand out more. I have darkened his skin tone lightly, and have lightened his white shirt to a bright white effect. To an extent, I have been able to make the artist blend in and stand out to the background. The majority of our music video is shot in daylight, hence why I have portrayed brightness in my digipak panels, which reflect the main mood of the artist and the music video.
This specific image was taken at the Graffiti tunnel in Redbridge, and I feel that the artist makes a serious connection with the audience, as he is looking directly into the camera / audiences eyes. This creates a personal and meaningful sense of atmosphere. The ides of the artist holding one of his buttons, reflect that he's is prepared for the audience and also wants to look very smart for them. In our music video, our artist has expressed himself in many ways, ranging from serious and straightforward, to quirky and exciting. He has a mixed personality with a positive vibe overall, and this is clearly showed in our music video. Our artist is a performer, and he performs because of his passion and also to entertain his audience and fans. This is present in our music video.
The main title is in a large, bold, and gold supernova font style effect. This is clearly visible for the audience to read, and the style of the title also reflects the Graffiti tunnel location. The graffiti place is the artists most favourite location, and his interests are reflected in the style of the title. I had decided to show the artists name in a red and white glow effect. I have placed both of his respectable names, resting on each side of his shoulder. The style of the font reflects the artists signature. This creates a personal connection between the audience and the artist, because the artist is allowing and wants the audience to see his signature, therefore becoming a part of his life. The artists sees his fans as family members more than just a typical audience. The name of the artist is small in comparison to the title,as I believe that the song name / album need to be recognised officially first, which is then followed by KAMZ name. The red vibrant colour used for his name, stands out from part of the white Graffiti background, and also his white collared shirt. The titles are very touching.
This is the final version of the back of my digipak. This picture was also taken at the graffiti tunnel. Again, by using Adobe Photoshop CC, I have been able to use the colourisation effect to enhance and completely change the colour of the background, from purple and green, to midnight blue and baby blue. I had also used the spot healing brush to get rid of the dirt and impurities which had previously been on the ground and on the artists shoes. I have made it look like the artist is looking at his own tracklist, subsequently also telling his audience where to look.
The long shot image has allowed the audience to see the background and the artists entire body. They can also see his stylish and smart outfit that he likes to wear. In our music video, the artist is constantly dressed smart. My tracklist is in a bold white font, separating itself from the background, but also complementing itself and fitting in with the cool blue effect. The legal information and Copyright logo (label) is in small print on the bottom left hand side, whilst the barcode and our company production studio logo is on the bottom right hand side. I have designed my digipak panels to portray a professional image, as well as allowing it to maintain a high quality premium design and finish.
This is the final version of my CD and left interior panel. I had taken the picture at the graffiti tunnel, and had used Adobe Photoshop CC, to slightly brighten the background, alongside colourisation and saturation levels. I had not brightened the image to it's maximum, as I felt that, due to the artists eyes being closed, I would be able to reflect his mood as quite warm, through the use of the very light yellow tint and lighting to the image. This reflects that the artist is in thinking mode. I have used the same font styles for the name of the artist and the name of the song / album. However, I have changed the positioning angles of the artists name and the song name. This is referring to the front of the digipak, but with the angles of the fonts altered. The legal small print information is at the top of the CD, and our label is at the bottom of the CD. The CD and left panel, share the same background image. The flow is consistent, in terms of the presentation of the artist and the favourite location of the artist (Graffiti tunnel reflects his colourful personality).
This is the final version of my right interior panel. The picture was taken at the graffiti tunnel, and I had used Adobe Photoshop CC to really brighten up the colours of the image, as well as the saturation level of the entire background, the artists clothes and also his skin tone. I have created a 4 panel digipak, hence why this panel is for the audience to just look at and adore. I have made it look as if the artist is looking at his own CD, which is on the left panel, ultimately telling the audience where to look as well. This is a similar image to the front of the digipak, and the artist has kept the same pose, but this time with his head turned. The complete digipak carries the artists image and favourite location, very well. My digipak turned out absolutely fantastic as a final product, in promotion of the artist, his song, and also for the audience to adore and purchase. This is truly an amazing representation of the music video and the artist, in just 4 highly configured panels.
OVERALL, the digipak shows a sum up of our music video, as the artist and use of main location is very well presented. The flow and theme is very consistent and fluid.

I have created a brand identity across my music video, digipak, and website, by constantly sticking to the similar images of the graffiti location, as well as using heavy colourisation and saturation effects for alley images, and also keeping a smooth and consistent style / theme with a professional look of promoting the artist and his song in a smart and elegant technique. The POP and RAP conventions are shown in all 3 of y products, by the use of text, styling and images.

DAVID GUETTA FT JUSTIN BIEBER - 2U (THE VICTORIA'S SECRET ANGELS LIP SYNC) - GOODWIN ANALYSIS.
For the GENRE CHARACTERISTICS, we can see that synthesisers are heavily used, a lot of slow motion effects are shown, there is very high and deliberate intensity of the pace of the shots, and the shot speed and music speed correspond, adapt and change. There is a lot of time to observe the girls / models figure and observe them dancing in front of the camera. This definitely engages the audience, as they can dance along with the artists and the performers on screen.
For the MUSIC & VISUALS, the camera is constantly moving, as well as the shots having to change from one style to another. Also, the shots tend to change at the beat of the song, which keep the audience engaged and as a part of the music video. The audience are able to stay hooked and involved with the music video, as the girls / models dancing bodies, style and tugging of their clothes, keep the audience entertained and in awe.
For the LYRICS & VISUALS, at 34 seconds, we can here Justin Bieber saying, "Let's stay closer"... The footage shows one of the Victoria secret models crossing both of her arms just above her chest and below her neck and making swaying movements, to represent closeness. Also, at 1 minute 24 seconds, the lyrics are, "Open up your mind"... The footage shows a model raising both of her hands up towards her forehead, and grabbing her head to give the impression that she is opening up her mind + making body movements. The lyrics and visuals in this music video are showed very quickly. The audience will be able to sing and dance along.
There is no INTERTEXTUALITY references that I could find.
In terms of VOYEURISM, this music video is absolutely infested with it. To be quite specific, the male gaze is 100% satisfied! Every single girl in this music video is semi naked, wearing very short, tight and fitted clothes, in order to attract attention to their ample assets, as well as accentuate their sexy figures and curves of their body. We see a lot of lingerie which mainly reveals how big their breasts are, a lot of crop tops which reveal their slim and toned bellies, and a lot of ripped jeans and knickers to attract attention to their long and smooth legs. We see constant close ups of breasts, bums, stomachs, and some legs. However, the close ups and big shots are mainly for the girls breasts, as that is what may sexually stimulate and pleasures the male audience the most. We also see a shaking / wiggling bum, as well as lots of dancing and body and hair touching. As mentioned previously, the male gaze is totally and 100% satisfied. The male audience love to look at the girls / models as an object, and always see the visualisation of the girls / models private areas and chunky parts of their bod, as means of sexual gratification. The male audience live to look at big breasts, fat and plump bums, smooth and long legs, and the entire sexy body of the girls / models, to attain full sexual pleasure.
This music video is completely PERFORMANCE BASED,due to the dancing and flicks of the hairs of the girls / models and there is absolutely no narrative to this music video.

FLUME FT KAI - NEVER BE LIKE YOU - GOODWIN ANALYSIS.
For the GENRE CHARACTERISTICS, we can see that the music video adopts a technique, whereby the cuts tend to vary in pace, in terms of slow and fast and adjusting to the full beat of the song. The audience will definitely find this gripping and fascinating, as they would be able to interact with the whole idea of joining in on the journey with the artist/s. The narrative looks at a couple in a relationship together (past), expressing their love, feelings and emotions for one another. (Future / Present - in comparison to her being single)
For the MUSIC & VISUALS, we can see that the shots are cut directly to the beat, in order to make everything flow together, and also how the main beat / drop of the music corresponds to the pace of the editing as well. A lot of dramatic changes and effects can be seen on screen, which also creates a sense of constant matching between the music and the shots itself. The audience would be satisfied and engaged with the music video, whenever the distortion effect takes place, which enables them to move their head to the way the footage is being manipulated. At 14 seconds, we can see the female artist mention the word "pain"... The footage shows a close up of her, wiping the corner of her right eye, whilst showing melancholic, depressed and sad facial expressions.
For the LYRICS & VISUALS, we can see that at 1 minute 49 seconds, the female singer says "Look me in my face"... The footage shows the male and female couple holding one another standing up, smiling and also looking at each other. Also, it is evident that the expression fro the lyrics and visuals to match, in this music video, is not shown by the normal way. At 17 and 18 seconds, the female says "Know I F#@ked up, I'm missing you"... The footage shows her in bed, looking at the ceiling and dreaming about him / with past memories appearing on the screen of her remembering of how she misses him. The audience are able to spot the narrative straight away, when they come to realisation that there is a past and future / present flashbacks being shown of her and her male lover from before, in comparison to now. They will remain hooked onto the narrative.
For INTERTEXTUALITY, we can see shots of the female singer in her bed dreaming and looking at the ceiling, saying how she misses her other half. This is a similar situation in The Saturdays song, "Missing You", where we can see half a females face in a laying down position, in the first 2 seconds saying "I miss missing you". The only difference is that here, one is daydreaming into the ceiling, and the other song shows the female making eye contact wth the audience, but ultimately, the situation is mostly quite similar.
For VOYEURISM, we can see the male and female couples kissing, the female jumping on top of the male in bed, the female taking her boyfriends / husbands shirt off and also taking off her own dress and staying in a bra. These shots are sexually pleasing for the male and female gaze. This music video did not have a full focus on voyeuristic features, but did manage to incorporate some footage of lust and sexual pleasure in the music video. Towards the middle and end of the music video, we could see high intensity kissing and lots of body touching, just to stimulate both gaze's simultaneously. This music video is a PERFORMANCE / NARRATIVE BASED music video.
For the MUSIC & VISUALS, we can see that the shots are cut directly to the beat, in order to make everything flow together, and also how the main beat / drop of the music corresponds to the pace of the editing as well.
